New Japan Pro-Wrestling (新日本プロレス) (NJPW or New Japan) is a Japanese pro-wrestling promotion based out of Nakano, Tokyo.  Founded in 1972 by Antonio Inoki, New Japan is currently the largest pro-wrestling promotion in Japan, as well as one of the largest in the world.  As of 2012, New Japan is owned by the Japanese media and entertainment company Bushiroad, whose founder and President is Takaaki Kidani.  The current President of New Japan Pro-Wrestling is Naoki Sugabayashi.  The International Wrestling Grand Prix (IWGP) oversees the major championships defended in New Japan.
